Fantasy, catching a ride on an armadillo, a candy smörgåsbord to rival Willie Wonka...these are just a few of the wonderfully charming and fanciful designs you'll find at Lark and Loon. Gretchen and Priscilla had a vision to create clothing for children that embodied the spirited nature of simply being a child, and they have succeeded! They commissioned artists throughout the country to design images that "convey the everyday HOPS, SKIPS and JUMPS, as well as a few outlandish cartwheels that occupy a child's day!"
Lark and Loon offers a nice assortment of t-shirts for boys and girls, as well as several dresses and pants for girls. All of these items are 100% cotton and made in the US. They've also tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible in the production of their wares:
"In an effort to limit our use of chemicals and to create a soft, nearly transparent feeling, we went with water-based rather plastiol for our screen printing. Water-based inks require less production time, and thus, fewer resources are consumed producing the ink. Also, because water-based inks are, as the name suggests, soluble in water, they require considerably less chemicals in the clean up process."

I've received a few great items for Lennon and I can not WAIT to showcase him in them here on MTW. Only 6ish weeks until I can! Unbelievable, really...I can't believe how soon I will have 2 children in my midst-one running, talking, playing, rambunctious, fun-loving toddler, and a baby! Oh my. I know there are a lot of you out there that have children that are 2 years apart or under. We'd love you to leave us comments about how you did it. Is there a secret to success?
Anyhow, on to the fun stuff-OUTFITS! What do The Godfather and sock monkeys have in common? They're both available on baby clothes!
Baby Fish Mouth is a brand new company started by two movie loving friends. Their t-shirts are cleverly reworded lines from movies made to fit babies, with slogans like "This cry goes to eleven," from This is Spinal Tap, and my favorite, "He made me a bottle I couldn't refuse," which of course, comes from one of our favorites "The Godfather". There are several other t-shirt choices and sizes to select from here. All of their items come uniquely gift wrapped in their own popcorn box! Isn't that clever? I'm thinking of possibly getting some more shirts for my movie loving friends that are expecting twins this spring. I'll be reviewing the shirt itself very soon!
A long time ago, before Noel was even born, I found this fabric and went absolutely "ape" (ba dum dum) over it. I immediately set to work making him a blanket and using the fabric to appliqué onesies for friends. Who can go wrong with a sock monkey? That particular blanket isn't one of Noel's faves, so I think it will be passed on to little bro, and he can hold it while sporting this sweet sock monkey onesie by Morfs from Polkadot Patch Boutique! It's inspired by the actual red-heeled sock monkey doll and even has real button eyes! It's so cute, words can not do it justice. Again, this clothing item alone gets me pumped for the arrival of the new baby!

Bronwen Handcrafted is the ultimate in "baby bohemian". If you know me, you know that I've always aspired to be more of a hippie (with little success), but I was excited nonetheless, when Bronwen asked me to review one of her slings. Bronwen's line is right up my alley. The less "adorned", the better, in my opinion. That's why I really love her elegant, yet simple designs. I haven't been able to use this sling much with Noel because there's just not a lot of room for him on my hip right now :), but I love the material and the design! I like that the tail isn't too long. In my (limited) experience with other ring slings, I've often noticed that there is way too much unnecessary material. This blue flocking design is silk and very lightweight with big, velvety flowers. It will be perfect for carrying Lennon about town.
Bronwen also has a great selection of other ring slings, and a couple of other styles as well. I really wanted to try out the podaegi, but I could not justify a "warm" sling in this Texas weather. Isn't it gorgeous??

On the left, Noel and I are displaying our matching pj set-it's Hatley's new "Nature Rocks!" design. It's so new, it's not YET available to the general public, but it should be very soon (I'll let you know when!). You can see the full mama outfit here. I tried getting a good picture of the two of us together in our awesome jammies, but this was the best I could do. Why didn't anyone tell me that these little toddlers never stop moving?!? :) This set is so

This is Hatley's first foray into kids "footie" pajamas, and they're adorable! I caught the little man standing still for a second (and he just happened to be next to a tent-how perfect) so you can see for yourself how cute these jammies are. Noel's been wearing a 3T in pajamas recently because he's pretty tall, but these are 18-24 mo. and fit him just fine. As you know, we're raising a rockin' tot, so the cartoony rock theme is perfecto!
