Phthalate free luxury ducks and whatnot

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind being seen at the pool hanging out with these guys. These are the most fashionable, trendy ducks I have ever laid eyes on and there are more where they came from.

At Designroom, you will find a slew of BUD luxury ducks like Moroccan, Punk and Peace duck pictured above. They are phthalate free and US and CE approved. You're crazy if you think these are just fun for the kids...surprise someone with a luxury duck for their birthday or give one as a house-warming gift. Luxury ducks are $8.99 a pop.

I'm also digging this sweet swim ring in Daydream by BUD($12). I'll be rockin' this baby in the north woods in a few weeks.

I may have to splurge and get the matching BUD beach ball ($12). It would be fun hitting this 36" inflatable around in the lake!

I could talk and talk about the BUD products by Designroom but I really don't want to delay you from heading over to their website and browsing around the rest of the cool products there. Check out all of the fab new summertime products while you're there!

Have you seen any Skipping Hippos?

I have and I think they are the most adorable things EVER!

Skipping Hippos' signature fleece ponchos are quite darling and will keep your little one toasty when you're out and about. The ponchos come in an array of different colors and range in size from 6 months to size 6 and retail for around $46 each.

I am so pleased with the quality of this poncho and love wearing it on my toddler when we go outdoors. It's perfect for those days when a winter coat is a bit too heavy and a spring jacket is...well, we're just too far away from that right now! She even loves wearing it around the house, as it's kind of like being snuggled up under a warm blanket.

We hope you will all stop by the Skipping Hippos' online boutique and take a look around. Expect to receive a lot of attention when your daughter is in one of these fabulously fashionable little ponchos!

New to Skipping Hippos are the "Day in May" jackets (photo on right) - perfect for springtime! They are available in multiple colors.

*There are quite a few stores around the CA area and several around the east coast that carry Skipping Hippos ponchos. Click HERE for the list.

Bumble Bags: The oh-so-perfect diaper bag

I don't know what I was thinking back when I was pregnant with Hailey and I registered for some random ugly diaper bag. That is SO not my style! But I was a "newbie" and not aware of the fantastic shops out there who have just what this fashionista craves.

Bumble Bags are so stylish and roomy and are available in several different styles; Jessica Messenger Backpack, Kimberly Tote and Madeline Backpack. We have the Madeline Backpack Hanging Stroller Bag in Paisley and it instantaneously became my favorite bag. The material is soft and it is water and stain resistant. There are plenty of sections for mom and baby stuff.

Generally, what you see here is what I carry with me on a daily basis. There is STILL plenty of room after all of this stuff for her toys and whatnot.

The features that I love the most about this backpack/diaper bag are the zipped diaper pocket on the inside, the multiple bottle/sippy cup compartments inside and out and the extra zipped pocket on the outside.

The pop-out stroller straps are great if you ask me. I love being able to attach my bag to the stroller and still have room underneath for all of my shopping bags. I was getting pretty tired of my bag always slipping off of the stroller handle.

The backpack feature of this bag just can't be beat. I don't feel like I'm losing everything when I have to hurry up and chase my toddler somewhere. I know all of my possessions are right there in my bag, on my back and not flying all over the place.

Bumble Bags are available at numerous online retailers (our pals at The Polkadot Platypus being one of them!) as well as quite a few physical locations around the U.S. and Canada.

Don't forget, they also have infant and toddler car seat covers, as well as toddler totes!

Baby Dagny - Half Off Seat Chillers!

I've had my eye on one of these for a while now and with the sweltering Chicago heat and a toddler who lets me know it's "hot" when I put her in her car seat, it's about due time that I pick up a Seat Chiller. I was happy to find out that Baby Dagny's Seat Chiller's are HALF OFF (reg. price $40) right now while supplies last!

Drea has reviewed one over at her site and I plan on throwing out my own two cents about them after we've tested it.

Also, don't forget that Baby Dagny has weekly photo contests. If your baby's photo is chosen, they give you a $20 gift certificate to their eBoutique. Not a bad deal at all!

Promise if you go and purchase one that you tell them that "MumsTheWurd sent ya". : )

How Was I to Know?!?

So I discovered today why people are willing to shell out a lot of money for a good stroller. I got my B.O.B. Revolution Stroller in the mail yesterday, and I LOVE IT. Up till now, we've been a strictly umbrella stroller family. Well, no more. I'm not sure I am willing to give up my BOB Stroller. The BOB has such a smooth feel to it. Granted, we've not gone outside with it yet, but I can tell already how much I'm going to love this thing. It's lightweight and SO easy to put together. E$ and I wheeled Noel all around the house. He was having a great time! We both said that it's almost like the stroller is doing the work and you're not struggling to make it go.

When we go to put Noel in the umbrella stroller, it's tear city. Today, he was laughing and enjoying himself. There's room for him to move around, room for drinks and snacks, and room for up to 10 lbs. of cargo underneath! As if these weren't enough selling points, you'll have no more wheels getting stuck in a weird position...the front wheel turns 360 degrees!

This is the Mercedes of strollers. I am on board the BOB Stroller train-jump on with me!

I Want to Ride My Bicycle, I Want to Ride My Bike

I just came from a playgroup at a park where a friend of mine has something called a "WeeRide Kangaroo Child Carrier" on her bike. It's a bike seat for a child that goes IN FRONT OF YOU instead of behind. She told me her toddler LOVES to go for rides and shouts "weeeeeee"! Hence the name, WeeRide, I guess. Anyway, this seat is totally cool, so I had to post about it. You can find it at Amazon.com, Target, Ebay

The Kangaroo retails for around $80.00 but I've seen it as low as $30.00 on Ebay. If you search around, you'll probably get lucky and find it pretty cheap. Kent is the manufacturer of these fine seats and they also sell other kid's accessories, as well. Click the Kent link and watch a video of the Weeride Carrier. You'd also want to pick up a helmet that fits your child's head, for sure. They have a helmet that fits kids ages 2-4 yrs. Let's go ride our bicycles!

Hot Fun

I haven't really represented the "smart, responsible shopper" side of myself well yet, so today I present to you my latest, inexpensive find:

Although it wasn't too hot yesterday, we just had to test this puppy out...and oh, what an IMMEDIATE HIT it was!!!  I made him get out after just a few minutes because the water wasn't exactly warm...so he leaned over the side and threw grass in and splashed around for probably 45 minutes.  When it was time to go in and eat, Noel stood at the door, looking at his pool and crying.  This morning he went and played in it WITHOUT water, and just thought it was the greatest thing ever.  From a kid's vantage point, this pool is enormous...way bigger than the ones they were making when I was a tyke.

This pool is going to be so fun when summer hits us with all it's gusto in Texas.  The best thing about it?  It was $9.99 at Target!  Rock on!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Don't feel like you need to hurry in out of the rain if you've got your tot decked out in some of Diane's Little Lambs Rainwear.

I saw these and nearly quit breathing:

Even better?  There are about 50 pairs to choose from, ranging from retro gogo style to skull and crossbones.  She also has full sets, like this one:

Since April shower season has hit us full on, I'll be picking up some gear from Diane's!!!

building a sand box

our thoughts are on the same page here! i have been thinking about a sand box to put on our balcony for hailey.

here is one example of how to build a sand box from the diy network.

however, i think i'd like one that is up higher, maybe chest level for her to stand at and play. i'd also like to make a section that we could put water.

like this one by step2, for example:

i found that one on ebay for $85. you could definitely make one like it for WAY less.

another thing i was thinking is, she will need a water proof apron if we're going to add the water section. something like this one:

target already has their pool/beach toys out, so we'll be all set!

sand needed for summer fun

i think we need a sandbox. i've decided i'm going to...make one. yep, it'll require hammering and nails and woodcutting, but i'm going to do it. i'll post pictures and a how to when this happens...

i'm suffering from an allergy attack, so i may very well retract this in the morning.

i like wagons

we purchased a used today's kids wagon from craigslist. i highly recommend craigslist.com for online bargain purchases. most big cities have access to this website and can list products or services.

the wagon we purchased has the higher sides, so your child won't easily fall out. i would have liked for it to have a little seatbelt but this one doesn't. i think i've seen others that have seatbelts though. this works best for the "active" child. there is also a little door that the child can open and close to step in and out of the wagon.

this wagon will be great for trips to the park and around the neighborhood!

i couldn't find the today's kid brand online anywhere. i thought that was a little odd. it is a great wagon though. other brands offer similar wagons; radio flyer, little tykes, etc.

i'll post pictures as soon as i take some!
