Drink for Thought

The word "organic" seems to be on the tip of everyone's tongues these days but what does organic really mean?

A well-known dairy company called "Horizon Organic" will explain to you first hand how important consuming organic products is. Their products are free of pesticides, hormones and antibiotics, which means they are healthier for you and your family.

Horizon's products are certified organic and I can tell you from my own experience, they taste great. I don't know if it's the fact that they are produced with care and concern for the consumer's health but there is something about the taste that makes me come back for more. I'm confident with giving my toddler Horizon products
because I know they care more about quality than quantity, therefore better products are produced.

We have three coupons for a FREE Horizon Organic product (up to a $4.99 value) for three winners. The coupons expire 7/31/08. To enter, leave a comment on this post with your contact information. Feel free to let us know if you've ever tried Horizon products before. Winner will chosen at random (not based on feedback) tomorrow, Wednesday, 3/19/08 at 10PM CST. Click HERE for a list of retailers that carry Horizon products. That is how you will know if you are near one to be able to use the coupon if you win. Unfortunately, these coupons can not be used online.

Good luck!

PS: If you have a chance, check out Horizon's website for recipes and health tips, as well as games and coloring pages for the little ones!

My name is Amber and I'm a milk-o-holic...I need this...have never had organic milk, but have really given it a lot of thought since my baby girl is now drinking the cow's juice.

Thank you kindly!

I love this milk! I love that organic lasts longer than the regular as well -- we don't go thru much milk (that will change once our baby hits the toddler years I'm sure), so it was always frustrating to have milk going bad all the time. This kind we can actually get thru before it goes bad, and I feel better knowing we're using something that's good for us:)

I'm curious about their fat-free milk. My hubby is picky about fat-free milk and if it isn't creamy or if it has a thin taste to it, he'd rather drink 1% or 2%. So many times I end up having to buy different milk for everyone in the family. I'd love to stick with one brand!

I am not interested in any coupons for Horizon, but I'd love some for Organic Valley!

I was surprised to learn recently about Horizon being owned by Dean Foods. Guess I need to pay more attention; I've been buying Horizon for over two years thinking I was supporting small family-owned organic farms, but instead my money was lining the pockets of a $12-billion corporation. And, to top it off, much of Horizon's 'organic' dairy products are from factory farms. Even if Horizon made the best organic milk around, the fact is that their parent corporation also produces more conventional milk than anyone else. See the blog I started about this at http://www.jeremygoodell.com
