Fabulously Pregnant!

I recently got my hands on Skye Hoppus' brand new book, "Rock Star Momma". This pregnancy guide to looking fabulous during all nine months is SURE to go down as a classic on the shelves of your local bookstore's family planning section. It's all about bringing sexy back...maternity style!

Skye's resume includes heading up the MTV West Coast music office for nearly a decade and she is also the wife of former Blink 182 rocker, Mark Hoppus. Skye and Mark are the proud parents of one rockin' little dude!

She writes this guide from the "Hollywood" fashionista point-of-view. Rock Star Momma is sure to help you be that sassy, fantastically pregnant lady that you are! I find that this is a fun guide to read between pregnancies, too. If you're planning on becoming pregnant for the first time or for the fourth time, this comprehensive, stylish guide to being pregnant in the 21st century is where it's at. From playing it casually cool to how to dress hip and comfortable at the office, Skye covers it all. This guide will have you laughing, nodding in agreement and making notes of all of the "fashion tips" offered throughout the book.

They should make this book pocket-size, so you can bring it with you when you're browsing those aisles at the maternity store. This guide will help you shop and dress "Rock Star Momma" style!

WIN A COPY OF ROCK STAR MOMMA!

We have TWO Rock Star Momma guides up for grabs! Sign Mr. Linky below. Include your name and URL or email address (remember, you can enter your email by typing http:// before it). In the comment section, let us know YOUR fantastic pregnancy tips! What got you through those nine months? Two Mums readers will be chosen on July 29th at 10PM.

Good luck!

What got me through the pregnancy..?
Comfy, but stylish clothes, lots of chocolate and a helping husband. Oh yeah, and the best of all, having a good reason to shop ("for the baby", "I can't fit in anything"..).

This tip is great for post-pregnancy too..
I had really bad backpain on my first pregnancy, and it got bad especially when I was vacuuming, so my husband took that chore over, and after the baby was born, I was nursing all the time, changing diapers... and then got pregnant again...

Summa summarum, our oldest one is 7 and youngest one 4, but my husband still vacuums at our house!

My best advice for pregnant moms is to pace yourself! Being mommy to five little ones, while being pregnant, is quite a chore, but I have learned - through my husband's gentle guidance - that I can not do everything without overdoing it -- The dishes can wait, the floor can go unswept (if only for the afternoon), the baseboards do NOT need to be scrubbed... Do a little at a time and don't overdo it!!

The best thing I can suggest it to accept the fact that you will NOT get it all done before the baby comes. Whether you are redoing the nursery, organizing closets, whatever, it will NOT all happen. The sooner you can accept that, the happier and less stressed you will be!

The best thing that I did for myself during my pregnancy was walk every day.

Hmmm. Sleep whenever you can, the tv becomes your friend if you have other little ones, Target for stylish maternity clothes, flip-flops or shoes w/out the back during the winter, massages, pedicures, haircuts!

What got me through was not drawing it out, I guess. We didn't tell everyone when we found out but waited until I was through with my first trimester then just told family. Everyone else found out as I started to show. It was fun to see how surprised people were and it made the whole pregnancy seem shorter, somehow.

Looks like a fun book. I'm not currently pregnant, but plan to have more children.

Sounds like a fun book! I'm pregnant for the first time, and so far my best tip is to have a fantastic husband who spoils you. Oh, and don't take anything out on your husband, even if you ARE morning sick and suffering from migraines. :)

My best advice would be to have a good support group...both before & after the birth. Surround yourself & the baby with people that make you happy....and try to avoid toxic people as much as possible.

This sounds like a great book. I could use all the help I can get. I'm due with #4 in 4 weeks and I have absolutely no idea how I've gotten through it. My tip- It helps to forget when it's all over! :)

I'm 7 months and what has gotten me through this pregnancy is Gingerale, bubble baths, and sleeping until noon.

Seriously, all huge lifesavers if you ask me!

How fun!I could really use this book. Some days I was doing good to make it out of the house in a clean shirt!

I always loved being pregnant. The best tip I could give would be to listen to your body. When you think you need to rest, do it. Whenever I overdid it one day, I'd pay for it the next. So, I got pretty good at recognizing when I needed to take a break. It's the best thing you can do to feel good and look good while you're pregnant.

My tip is to dress comfortably, keep your feet elevated as much as possible, drink LOTS of water, and buy Mylicon EARLY on...you will need this!

Thanks for a great giveaway!

I would say listen to your body. Get lots of rest, which was easier with my first pregnancy. Now that my son is 12 months old and I am pregnant again, wow, it's rest when he is napping! Stay hydrated and eat yummy stuff. Pamper yourself!

Comfy clothes and napping got me through my other pregnancies! With this one it is more of the same. :)

Well, it was quite a while ago, LOL, but I dropped excess sugar from my diet, loaded up on lots of veggies and fruits and sewed my own adorable maternity wear. Both my kids were preemies so I only wore maternity clothes until my seventh month.

My best pregnancy advice - dress nicely and in what you feel good in. Your body changes so much over the 9 months that if you try to cheap out and wear clothes that make do, but you don't feel good about you are going to feel FAT! And this is a beautiful time and you need to feel it! Take advantage of that pregnancy glow! :)
As a note - my hubby commented last week on how since I was pregnant he now notices pregnant women and how beautiful they look. What a sweetie, eh?

My best advice?

Get a midwife or doctgor who cares, and don't let them bathe and dress the baby at a place you can't see.

Feel welcome to enter my give-away at: http://laaneworld.blogspot.com/2007/07/give-away.html
Ending Friday night.
