Who Loves Ya, Baby?

Is your little one the apple of your eye? Then they need a shirt from Il Cocco di Mamma! Donna started Il Cocco out of her need to supply her nephew with something cute and cultural. Out of that need, Il Cocco di Mamma was born, and we're certainly glad it was!
Aside from the large selection of Signature Tees they offer with slogans such as "bella" (beautiful) and "dolce come il miele" (sweet like honey), Il Cocco also offers lovely little shoes, wooden alphabet blocks in different languages, and books and CDs you know and love in various languages also!

Looks like there are two little tikes that we know that are definitely daddy's girl and mama's boy.

Whether you are raising a bi-lingual child, want your kids to have a more multi-cultural upbringing, or just want something fun and unique for your little one, Il Cocco di Mamma is the place to look!

Oh...and one more thing...while you're looking be sure and pick a chemise (French for shirt!) you might want! Two lucky winners will win the shirt of their choice! Just leave us a comment about your favorite cultural experience-whether it's traveling overseas, or eating at your favorite Mexican joint! The contest will end next Thursday, July 19th at 10 PM CST. Good luck!

My favorite cultural experience is attending church every Sunday. Some of my favorite people are from Ethiopia and El Salvador. We have great conversations, and they help me to learn so much about other cultures!

My favorite cultural experience? Traveling overseas (I live in the USA). I've been to Australia, France and Italy. Everywhere I go, I find all the different customs and languages and CULTURE fascinating. I can't wait to travel more!

Yay! Another fun contest! Hmmm...my favorite cultural experience was probably during a missions trip when we did ship ministry and we worked with philippino's and other people from that area of the world...they were all on this BIG cargo boats and travelled across the ocean delivering products...but they were lonely and apart from their families. Anyways, it was REALLY neat!

I have been to France twice and CAN NOT wait to take the kids someday! I think the most amazing experience I had was when visiting the Memorial at Normandy... it was amazing and you could just feel the spirit of the history there.

I love listening to my "Learn Italian Together" CDs with my 3-1/2 year old. We're planning a trip to Italy in a couple of years and it's amazing how many words he picks up just like that!

I like watching foreign cartoons on YouTube with my three year old daughter. It doesn't really seem to matter that they're not speaking English, she gets the gist.

Oh, and foreign foods are always the best way to experience different cultures!

W/ my job I've been all over Europe in major cities. I love to go to the local grocery store and check out the different things they have. So interesting. One time I brought back an entire Italian meal back from Italy. Fun times!

During my teenage years, I would go to Mexico for two weeks every summer with my friends. We would do Vacation Bible Schools, build houses, clean parks, etc. The food was amazing, and I waited all year to go back (for the people and the food). It was the most amazing experience. Now, as an adult, I teach four year olds. 90% of my students are from Mexico. I enjoy the food they bring me. Tostados are my favorite!

I've been to so many different countries and eperienced many different cultures. I think one of the best was my time in Scotland, on the cliffs of the North Sea puffin watching, and learning to fly fish. Two things everyone should experience at time in their lives....

I work full time and don't get to see my daughter as much as I would like. We recently put her in daycare, which is different because she has always been raised by family members. The daycare she is in has cameras that I can watch her from work on. This is where my favorite cultural experience comes in. Everyone in her room is different. They all look different, sound different, they even speak different languages. The one learning experience I hope my daughter learns from daycare is that everyone is the same. They are all different in some way, but they play, eat, laugh, and sleep all the same. They are all unique in one way, and their culture is what they learned it all from. But they are all Americans. They are all toddlers.

My fave cultural experience? Well, I'm Canadian and every year my town has a HUGE festival called "Heritage Festival" where Canadian bands come and play, there are exhibits and activities revolving around Canada's history. Aside from that, my only other cultural experience was a trip to Jamaica a few years ago. It was amazing! They have such a rich and colourful lifestyle. I can't put into words how vibrant and exciting the Jamaican culture is.

My favorite cultural experience was living in the SF bay area and being a labor and delivery nurse at the local hospital. I served many different cultures including East Indian, Filapino, Hispanic, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc. You name it! I loved being able to help each culture birth their babies in the way they felt most comfortable and to learn all about how their culture viewed birth. One of the best cultural experiences and I didn't even have to leave the states!
